NovaKid is an online English learning platform for children between the ages of 4 to 12. Since it is specific to children, many parents are wanting to try it out. Therefore, I will share some reviews I’ve come across on the internet and my daughter’s experience with NovaKid. I’ve looked into over 3 thousand reviews from Trustpilot, Play Store, App Store, and Best Language Learning Apps.

2. NovaKid Pros and Cons
As an online English learning platform, NovaKid has its advantages alongside its disadvantages. I will share the ones I think are the most important.
NovaKid Advantages
- Tutors speak only in English during the lessons with children
- Lessons are prepared according to the child’s age
- Since the classes are only one-to-one, the tutor can entirely focus on their students
- NovaKid provides a library that contains material your child may need
NovaKid Disasvantages
- Poor Customer Service
- Tutors have connection problems during the lessons
- Some tutors cannot communicate properly with the kids
- NovaKid App has many technical problems
- It is difficult to have consistent lessons with a tutor you like
- Tutors tend to be very qualified during trial lessons, but this is not the case after you subscribe to the platform
- They renew subscriptions without approval
3. NovaKid’s Best Feature
I think NovaKid’s best feature is the lessons being prepared according to the child’s age. The platform claims they prepare the classes considering the children’s age and try not to bore them. When my daughter was learning English with NovaKid, I experienced this first-hand. She is 10 years old, and even though she has gone to school for a few years, she still gets bored during classes and gets frustrated when she cannot understand something.
Therefore, it was very important for me and my husband that she could understand the teacher clearly and not lose interest during the classes. We first tried the trial lesson, and she liked it, so we subscribed to it. She liked her teacher at the trial lesson and wanted to continue with her, but we could not find her again. So we continued with different tutors. She enjoyed her lessons and improved a lot. However, I’ve seen reviews saying some tutors do not know how to communicate with the children or how to catch their attention. So, I guess it depends on the tutor. Keep that in mind if you want to subscribe to NovaKid, and good luck.
4. NovaKid’s Worst Feature
From my daughter’s experience with NovaKid and the parents’ reviews I’ve read online, I can say NovaKid’s worst feature is its customer service. As you will see from the reviews below, NovaKid’s customer service is a nightmare. They are almost impossible to reach. They don’t provide phone calls which I think is not sensible since it is easier to express yourself by talking rather than texting. They have only one number they provide, and they accept only texts. Moreover, they don’t reply to customers most of the time. I can’t understand why a platform like this would do this to itself. They can be very successful, but their customer service being bad drives everyone out.
Therefore, I will suggest you not to try it out. When I wanted to end my daughter’s subscription, I wanted to reach customer service and ask them not to renew it since I’ve heard they do. However, they did not respond to me, and our subscription got renewed. Hoping this time they would help, I texted again to ask for a refund, but they did not reply to that either. I am very disappointed. If you want your children to learn English, try other platforms since NovaKid is not trustworthy.

“My 5-year-old boy has improved a lot in understanding English and is doing very well in speaking thanks to NovaKid. I recommend!” - Adina Hagivreta, Trustpilot
★★★★☆
“My 6 year old son, usually a shy boy, loves this lessons. He has a great experience and I can already see how he improves his English skills. As I parent, I find these lessons too short. I think a duration of 40-45 min would be ideal for this age. Also, sometimes we had some issues with the connection and the lessons got even shorter.” -Manuela, Trustpilot
★★★★☆
“I was very excited about the programme first but very disappointed when i figured out about the prices that change. I mean, when you chouse a package for a mounth you expect that you pay the same price till the end. So, please respect your clients! Be more sincere and transparent about your prices!” -Andreea, Trustpilot

“Very disappointing!! First they keep mailing you to send documents and keep chasing u to join. All our videos and documents we are sending without any proof of their authencity and then they just say don’t wish to continue. At first I was very skeptical to send my documents but with their constant pursuance and assurance of good salary u fall for them.” -Hira, Trustpilot
★☆☆☆☆
“Very disagreeable experience! I could talk with someone only when I had to pay. In rest of the time, only email, answering hard, and seems not to understand what I need! I ask something and receive nothing. You have a call center for talking only when starting a subscription? Is there any person that supervises here?! It seems…not! This is the way you want clients & advertising? Bad choice!” -Alina Francisk, Trustpilot
★★☆☆☆
“I dont like the fact that constantly the teachers cancel the scheduled class. Also the availability of them in the calendar is something difficult to find. Finally the fact that the majority of the teachers are from Philippines. Ideally we would like to have teachers from all over the world.” -Konstantinos, Trustpilot
★★☆☆☆
“Always suffer from network disconnection of teachers. My kid have enrolled 4 classes so far but there was internet disconnection EVERY CLASS! I checked my network and I am very sure mine is stable. Every disconnection lasts for 1-5 minutes but the teachers didn’t compensate for the loss of time” -Amanta, Trustpilot
6. Play Store NovaKid Reviews
On Play Store, NovaKid has almost 3 thousand reviews and a rating of 4.2 out of 5. Here positive reviews are about users’ children improving in English and the app being easy to use for kids. However, negative reviews are about technical problems within the app and the customer service not being helpful at all. Here are some reviews:
★★★★★
“The level of English of my kids, regarding pronounce and vocabulary is clearly improved. The lessons are very efficient and productive, the NovaKid platform allows a easy parental management with user section for kids (with exercises and games). It is also good to develop the skill in using computer for kids (drag and click with mouse). There is also the opportunity for choosing different teachers around the globe, which can suit different needs of learning. Recommended!!” -Jaime Silva Carvalho, Play Store
★★★★☆
“I really like the updated app, but why is the schedule shown only until the end of the next month? How much more difficult would it be to show in the unlimited future? Do to this limitation, I regularly miss it that I didn't plan enough classes. I remember to take care of it when subscribing but this attention fades away closer to the end of the subscription period (3 months).” -Kotya Karapetyan, Play Store
★☆☆☆☆
“Terrible experience. These guys are working hard on marketing, REALLY hard. But here's my story - after doing the free trial, we registered for a month, two lessons per week program. The video and audio were not synced at all, to the point where my kid was so frustrated he did not want to participate any longer. They will not refund the account, willing to give me back some of the lessons. Oh... And if you try to contact their customer service... Good luck This is on the verge of scam” -Ishay Peled, Play Store
★☆☆☆☆
“No support at all. I never seen anything like this in a paid service. My subscription is ending, I have several lessons left with no time to complete them and I'm desperately trying to get a response for 5 whole days with no success. I tried through the app, the website chat and their email- several times. Nothing. When I first joined and did the free lesson, they did cold call me 6 times and emailed me 5 to get me to purchase so there's no shortage of employees, just a matter of priorities…” -Ami, Play Store

★★★★★
“I am pleased with my son's success in learning English. I would like to thank NovaKid for their contribution to my children's learning English. We tried other platforms before NovaKid, but we didn't get much results. My son is very enthusiastic here and enjoys the lessons.” -Sevim, bestlanguagelearningapps.com
★★★★☆
“My child's experience is incredible, he is always excited before the lesson and at the end of the lesson I can understand that the lesson went well. The teacher is really very sensitive, very clear and clear, he can go down to the level of the children and does his best for them to understand.” -Perihan, bestlanguagelearningapps.com
★☆☆☆☆
“Game contents are good, but not suitable for my daughter, she can't understand it, not for her age. We have given lessons a few times so far, but the system seems too complicated to me. Also, when I'm defining the lesson recently, it gives a warning that I have a lesson, and when I enter it, it says that there is no lesson.” -Bülent
★☆☆☆☆
“Very bad experience for me! I wanted to cancel my lessons due to connection problems with the lessons I paid for and because I could not take lessons with the teacher I wanted, but for some reason I could not contact customer service.” -Aygül, bestlanguagelearningapps.com
9. Conclusion: Is NovaKid Good For Your Child?
From my experience and the user reviews I’ve read, I can say yes, NovaKid seems to be good for your child. However, it is not ideal. A platform that focuses on children between ages 4 to 12, should be very careful with its tutors, its lessons, and the technical quality of its website and app. I don’t think NovaKid is very careful in these areas. I don’t believe they select their tutors carefully since there are parents saying their children didn’t understand the tutor and the tutor could not manage to catch their children’s attention.
Also, there are many parents saying their tutor had connection problems and this led their children to get bored or frustrated and lose their motivation. When you add the technical problems within the app to these problems, I don’t think NovaKid is ideal. I feel obligated to suggest you go find another platform that is better than NovaKid. To do so, you can visit our website and compare different platforms to NovaKid.
